Google+ made big changes to the user's personalized experience. Search engine options have been so deeply layered-- some businesses charge that Google has destabilized the playing field.
Reviews are showing some feel the new deeper information-sifting feels a bit creepy. Due to the fact that the search engine can now sort through all posted text and extract startling details and then make them available to the individual as choices for new search options.
An example would be having a favorite dog with the same name as your favorite food. Due to conversations posted within online content, your search results page can show you photos of your favorite family dog, and choices for that same favorite food. Not everyone will name their dog Mr. Potato Head, and not everyone will know potatoes are your favorite food, but the search engine does.
Pushing The Envelope of Personalized Content
The new Google + search results offer a red arrow at the top of the page so you can click more deeply into "your world". If you have extended content about your world, Google will infuse this into the search-base as well. If the project or business information posted becomes neglected around maintaining posted current content, then those who are not neglectful, will see content information, and they will be able to take advantage of and capitalize on the clicks and attention the posted information is receiving.
Google Presence No Longer a Choice?
If owner/operators of businesses and websites are not using Google's strategy of robustly linking and generating content, an epic fail in goals and results can occur.Once the Google+ account is open--from that moment on all gathered and posted information is showing on search results pages. If no one is paying attention to the responses to this information, those who are, will remain the perceived leaders of this information field. Once entered, this information appears very high on Google+ search results pages.
As a Google+ member, the content posted by that member is first, second and third within search results displayed for that connected content. Google Search + Your World automatically enables itself anytime the member logs in. Sort of like it's following you.
Profiling Efficiency
Type in just the first few letters of a friends name there is the friend-- delivered by the auto-complete file predictions. Select this friend's profile that is now displayed and the user will find themselves on the Google+ profile page where related interests and conversations have already been shared.
If a user searches for a specific sports or theater event in this expanded "Plus" world, the likely result will be a shown display of prominent people discussing the sport or theater event in their own personal conversations on a public page.
Not Available In Pod Form?
Pod-casters decided to try testing this new system out. When a new pod-caster went online to see what would happen within the new Google+ realm, the user tried searching from within the new Google+ account which was used to make a Google "page" for In Pod Form.
This action caused a display:
Three photos with the words "40 personal results" and under this-- text stating there are 276 million other results along with the website. Under this, a dominant index of the search results (for a TV show). Then metadata about who one'd it, shared it, etc.
When the user logged in under In Pod Form without Google+ ? The first result was the same, and the second result? The Pacific Ocean Division of the Corp of Army Engineers. (POD)
